Antique carpet originating from the Tarim Basin in Eastern Turkestan. The production of carpets in this zone, handed down for more than 2000 years, was well-known in the West until the end of the eighteenth century. The refinement and the affectation of the designs, with respect to tradition, is quite visible in this example of the wide-ranging decoration. The imagination and the lightness of the primarily floral motifs is also evidenced in the seven borders that depict classical themes such as Greek key designs, rosettes, or the "water-mountain-cloud" motif. Such patterns follow a completely personal interpretation of artistic sensibility. The coloration is vivacious and elegant.
Antico tappeto proveniente dal bacino del Tarim nel Turkestan Orientale. La produzione di tappeti di questa zona, tramandata daoltre 2000 anni, era ben conosciuta in Occidente fin dalla fine del XVIII secolo. La raffinatezza e ricercatezza dei disegni, nel rispetto della tradizione, è ben visibile in questo esemplare dalla decorazionee ad ampio respiro. La fantasia e la leggereza dei motivi per lo più floreali, si evidenziano anche nelle sette cornici che riportano terni classici corne greche, rosette o il rnotivo "acquarnontagne-nuvole". Tali rnotivi seguono una interpretazone, del tutto personale, di artistica sensibilità. Vivace ed elegante la colorazione.
